The cover is a lovely artistic take of the lounge/building at the Rockabilly Rave as where this record vinyl is recorded, by Peter Lawson with vintage tape recording at the chalet, at the 25th rave...camber sands.
The front is done in semi vintage effect of bottle green an beige, traditional, with black Italic cursive type an vintage western, including the gimmick of Havin western saloon style music Blaring out the door and a beer bottle flying through a broken window...classic, not to forget the pesky seagulls, with an empty pop noodle pot on its head, as it had an accident, with the topped off silhouette of a Buick/57 chevy complete with slap bass on top.. the back a little different with Toto full swing in iconic stance of a bop jump, while rattling out his great rockabilly sound watched on by Sam France, as he plays with Tony bashing the skins. this image placed top left corner with photograph on opposite corner of the original 50s image of the chalet. Class! Great work by Sam French double bass
Now for the tracks... ye ha...
Track 1,
Polly put your kettle ( J.L.Williamson)
Yea as it says, a blasting bluesy start with harmonica to Polly put kettle on, this classic all-time rhyme, now done as a stomping rockabilly blues bopper is just a must for well just about anyone. Havin a strong drum patterns throughout a beauty of tidy guitar break. 110 percent see this as a floor filler of bopping Kats wanting a taste of this...obviously gr8 for all ages great way to teach the kids too ...
Track 2
Here comes that feeling (Burnette - Osborne)
As a track done by little Miss Dynamite, now as a slower rockabilly bluesy tune, adding his sound and twist to a well know record. With traditional studio echo, Toto on acoustic guitar and subtle voxcalm bass and drum, sturdy steady beat reliving the great sound of this classic, can see it played many place
Summery
This is a fantastic little number to have in the collection and probably won’t be many like it.
Toto and the raw deals young high energetic Uk based band and not long been signed by 1 of the major rocking record labels after a few weekender performances, I have played it a number of times already on my show on www.rockabillyradio.net and received great feedback.
