I would imagine you would already know this band as they have been around for a few years and released some previous albums BUT if you don’t then I will give you a little bit of information about the French Trio.
The band started gigging in 2020 and have played far and wide including the States where they played the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly festival earlier this year. The band writes their own songs which make up all the tracks on the previous two albums as well. For me this is great as I like to hear something new plus it’s great for the band as there is nothing better than playing your own songs.
The band members are -
T Becker on lead vocals and acoustic guitar.
Mr Did on Lead Guitar.
Axel Ribard-Becker – Double Bass.
The Album has 12 songs
I don’t wanna- A good start to the album this track has harmony vocals and is classic Rockabilly/Hillbilly.
Why do I let her cross the line-A more up-tempo Rocker this one love the guitar sound.
Please don’t cry- A slower number this one but you must notice the guitar intro great sound.
Bam Bam Bam- A catchy number love the lyrics, and the sound reminds me of the bands I used to play on my record player from Sweeden and Finland in the 90’s.
Like a ghost- This track reminds me of the Sun sound from the early recordings the way the Bass kicks in at the start and the guitar picking style. Awesome
Cry Cry Cry- There is a clear Country sound to this number it’s a much bigger sound than you would expect from a 3-piece band.
Make up your mind- Classic three piece Rockabilly love the Bass and guitar and vocals on this.
The one I need- My first thought was Buddy Holly when I heard the guitar intro which is always a good thing then I thought High Noon. This is a great track.
All Alone- A melancholy sad number I have no issue with that at all especially when it’s played as good this on is.
You keep hating me- I like this track it’s a Hillbilly bop/Rockabilly number great lyrics.
Bop that beat- Another duet in harmony in the Hillbilly bop style love it.
I love her so – The album started strongly and finishes just as good.
In my opinion the 3-piece Rockabilly band is probably one of the hardest styles to get right. You could probably count on one hand your favourite 3-piece bands from Elvis, Scotty and Bill to Johnny, Luther and Marshall and of course Johnny Burnette, Dorsey and Paul to the modern bands on the scene today playing in a 3-piece band is hard work having been in a couple I know what it takes. Throw in writing and composing your own material and it’s a labour of love. You can tell the T Becker Trio love what they do it’s in the music in the lyrics and in the energy of the songs. This band remind me of the like of High Noon, The Barnshakers , Hal Peters , Big Sandy and The Rhythm River Trio.
I don’t really need to tell you that this is a quality album if you have heard the band play live or through a sound system BUT if you haven’t had the pleasure then I can say you’re missing out and you need to get your hands on this album in fact make sure you get the back catalogue and get out and see the boys live I know you will enjoy it they do a great job of making it sound easy but believe me it aint.

Who are they?
A trio of French musicians from Normandy, in love with music and attached to the reckless and happy spirit of the 50’s.
or over the top technicality. Simple and honest songs with the only purpose of sharing a moment of true happiness with the audience.
