Members

Jackie Brutsche (aka Jack Torera) on vocals and guitar.

Samuel Schmidiger on bass

Chris Rosales on drums

formed in 2007, the trio from Bern, Switzerland are known for their high-energy performances, raw sound, and infectious melodies.

This song has a great Garage feel with a hint of Surf in the guitar licks. The opening riff reminds me of Hell Raise by The Sweet, certainly no bad thing. The lead has a strong RnR voice & gives us a solid vocal. It’s all a great blend of 60s Gararge & Punk energy. There’s a blistering guitar break in the middle, real top-class playing. Lyrics seem to concern a love gone wrong.

Summary

This track could have wider appeal, it wouldn’t sound out-of-place on Marc Riley’s or Steve Lamaq’s BBC 6 Music shows. I really enjoyed this, the first I’ve heard of this band. I look forward to seeking out more by them. Recommended for any lovers of Garage,

Punk, Indie, or good music in general.

Bio

The Jackets have garnered widespread acclaim for their music and electrifying live shows. Their previous albums have been celebrated, with “Shadows of Sound” praised by Shindig! magazine as a “perfect example of how modern garage-punk should sound,” and “Queen of the Pill” described by Louder Than War as “a blistering, fuzz-filled ride.” Their live performances are often highlighted for their “pure energy and charisma,” bringing the spirit of ’60s garage rock into the modern era.
