Electric Teds are a Rock & Roll, Rockabilly, Garage Rock, Psychobilly trash band from Finland. This is their second release, “GET READY FOR THIS” was released back in 2022. The trio take their influences from Elvis, Gene and Caven. And that’s not a bad lot to follow. The trio are currently not on a label, so releasing everything by them self’s. So, lets plug in a get the Electric Teds on the player
Track by Track Review.
Broken Hip Mama.
High octane intro with drums and guitar. Vocals are great, Kinda Freddie Fingers Lee style, some fine guitar work on the instrumental break. The lyrics are plain and simple but with that backing, it just works. Great opening track
Rockin Sugar Daddy
At one minute and twenty seconds this sure is a short but full on rockin track. I mentioned the trios influence of Caven, and here it is in full stereo. Another bopping floor filler.
Rockabilly Lesbo From Outer Space.
Splendid mash of rockabilly sounds and styles, love how they have blended all the genres together to make this basically instrumental track. the title shows the diversity in the boys writing techniques and taking their music in a new level. Really enjoyed this track.
Kentucky Fred
We are going down south, the sound of dixie is well cemented in this track. another short but full energetic rocker.
I’m Your Ted
Psychobilly meets Little Richard in this very fast paced cracking rockabilly garage track. some great guitar sounds along with drums. the boys are having a party on this track. letting the instruments tell story. The outro is I believe is they bands way of paying tribute to Tequila and Little Richards Wop-bop-a-loo-mop, alop-bom-bom from Tutti Frutti.
Somebody Else,
Firstly I have to warn about the context of this track and listeners discretion is required. But it’s a full throttle, high octane pure rock n roll belter. It’s the last song on this release and it’s a shame. Really enjoyed the tracks
Summary
Its my first time hearing this band, and what I heard I liked. I certainly get their style and what they are about. They are raw and rare. True to all the styles they perform. I would imagine a great stage presence that would be full of pure energy and fun. I look forward to many more releases from these high powered Electric Teds
Recommendation
Apart from some discretion in the lyrics. This is a great release.
