Track by track Review:

Surfin Hayride- So, to start us off with the title track and it’s a fine surf compilation of the era of surfin’ guitars and beat. Worth mentioning the awesome workings of Chris Casello on making the guitar sing for him.

Panhandle Rag- A rollercoaster of fun, hard fast & furious in context to the original  first recorded by Leon McAuliffe in 1949.

Taboogie- Neat soft beat number with Chris pulling out some awesome guitar work.

Jolene- Dolly Parton’s famous tune done in spaghetti western style with all the effects.

Batteroo- Originally from The Planet Rockers played here at a slower tempo with a more Western sound to it.

Suspicious Minds- An instrumental adaption of Elvis’s song along with castanets and Chris playing the electric sitar .

Chicken Plucking- Great into and riff verse that portraits a chicken being plucked with traits of a batman style sound to follow.

Catalina- Lovely laid-back number that’s lets you drift along with some mellow sounding guitar notes.

Sharkskin Buffalo- Spanish intro with traits of Pipeline some cool guitar sounds and a neat drum solo.

Mr. Rebel- Chris plays the guitar on this number with a distinctive sound and a lively tune backed by Rebel yells from drummer Jimmy Lester.

I Still Miss Someone- With a Johnny Cash up-tempo beat carrying through this is a proper knees up number.

She's A Woman- Instrumental adaption of the Beatles song to end with a more upbeat ska kick.

To Summarise, an interesting collection of well-known tunes cleverly adapted into instrumentals with an unusual touch, some self-penned tracks and standard surf style numbers something for the connoisseur and easy listener to, well worth a listen.
