We first featured Gary Hiland Trio way back in 2020 with the band’s first release. “Don't Give Your Heart to Me”. Forming in 2018 they are a rockabilly band from the Uusimaa region of Finland.  Gary tells me he his looking forward to 2025. With plans of a new album and touring to help gain international recognition. So here’s the chance for the promoters to book one for their festivals and weekenders. The single Recorded at Bat Cave Sound Lab , Helsinki Finland in October 2024it was Recorded and mixed by K.Kunnas.

Running Around (Kunnas)

Instant toe tapper, leading to the vocal which are nice and clear. Both drums and bass sit nicely in the background. This is a self-penned track by Gary continuing to demonstrate his skills with a pen and paper. Its not a tongue twisting frantic track, but a very 1950s style with a great one line vocal. Just the way it was meant to be. Great track from the trio.

Rock’n’Roll Blues (Connelly- Wiener)

First recorded way back in 57 as a R&B track by the well-known Linda Hopkins (known for her portrayal of singer Bessie Smith  "Me and Bessie". The trio have completely transformed the track into great rockin version. What was a simple piano and drum backing is now a fuel filled rhythm sound, the vocals are kept to the style of the original, but with the knew composition it gives it fire. The instrumental break is right out of the sun studio. Loved it.

Summary

I never expected anything less from the boys. From hearing them over the years they just seem to get better and better. Whats more impressive they just make it sound so simple. I really hope they get that album released in 2025, my advice is don’t hold back boys, its your time to shine.
