Its the BOO DEVILS,
THERE BACK , another fantastic band from sunny Spain, and their rockin scene is booming, I’d like to be there, rockin up spinning the tunes, from the capitol , Madrid after the release of a couple albums and rocking the scene the last decade. they’ve been busy again and back in the studio and brought to you by the fabulous El Dandy Release, a home great productions, the boys have a newly released their POR AMORE, as the label also suggest the deeper cool bluesey grinding rocker sound, where many of greats have appeared, within this record coms a fair amount of background and somewhat dedication, being recorded in the studio and produced by Alvaro Escribano in La Chulona, Alvaro who is also the slinging guitarist and vocals, and to the band with himself are,

Joe Gabardo guitar ripping,and roaring harmonica
Diego Serrano (guitar, banjo, 2009-17
Emmanuel Miró slapping double bass, 2012-present

a very impressive line up... and an unusual especially for my self , a forward from Alvarno, representing the new version and updated sound and the inspired dedication,,, i do enjoy a good quote,...:-
if you thought that "POR AMOR" that version of Johnny Hallyday's "De l'amour" that the band released in 2019 couldn't sound better,
Get ready for this. The Boo Devils have given this song a twist with the sound that defines their latest album, "IT'S ONLY THE END" (2024).
"This song has always been very special for the band because they rewrote the lyrics between Joe Gabardo, Ángel Sietevidas and the result was incredible, one of our favourites and also of our audience, very chanted in concerts... But now we wanted to take her to the next level. It's a tribute to Hallyday and our beloved Joe, but it's also a true reflection of who we are right now."This new version, which will be available on all streaming platforms.
well, that was amazing insight, with all this in mind you must be like me and itching. In good way to know what its like...SO....! let jump to it.
so we have a very slow start, spoken vocals, with guitar strum of echo tremolo between each line for number of lines in mother tongue, Spanish, to a pause and... bam!! in with instrument ensemble in 30 seconds, making its mark,
a semi distorted electro sound on guitar and a pounding drum and power chord paced double strums, to an in fused power driver on constant beat and power, which hits in on each open / chorus section, going between the two stages throughout the record with it very immediate catchy electro riffing pattern, the mid-section to this is an open area of sound again bringing together all members for full power impact, to a lower key section for short time back to the beginning sound of the record, some power aspect thrown in on guitar and drum and a very cool guitar and drum and bass call response play off from each other very nice indulgent string work and capturing beat, and again back to the full group sound, each section has its opener of a defined pulse drum bass beat and in to an ending of longing for a long vocal stretch getting lounder upping the dynamics with the instruments thrashing out... finishing POR AMORE! TWANG BANG BANG..!!!
WELL THEN ROCKERS, HOW WAS THAT FOR YOU ??!!
from slow starter to full on rocker , it had it all... and more... full power dynamics and sound, there’s elements and roots of ..rock rockabilly gothabilly, blues Spanish home town. full neo!! making this a true unique homemade individually input scripted piece of greatness, a tune in which could and would be played in a variety or most definite neo and rock venues primarily, bound to get the folk up an jumping around the place.
the 2019 version, being the original and the newly recorded version do have a lot of contrast and between them both an exceptional sounding and would cover a vast range of places venues etc where they could be played, alot more bluesier rockabilly the pre version... as you will hear, giving diversity for many !!
