Jamie Balcombe from Dareton, NSW, Australia has got together with Jason Deatherage ( from the surf band “The Surf Hermits”) to produce his first self-penned Surf number hot off the press and unreleased as yet.

Members of the Band:

Jamie Balcombe - lead and rhythm guitar ..... Using a Gretsch5420, Outback Australia.

Jason Deatherage - Bass, Drums, sound effects, British Columbia, Canada.

Produced and Mixed by Jason Deatherage in British Columbia, Canada.

Track Review:

Podium Finish- So, lets go surfing! The song starts off with a sports commentary before the Gretsch kicks with its oh so awesome compelling sound. There are traits of a “Batman” style riff and some riveting licks with the sounds of racing cars in-between the Gretsch cranking up more tantalising notes of surf dragster flurries.

So, let’s Summarise certainly one for the surfers and instrumental boys, the tune has character and is a credit to the Dick Dale era when surf ruled the waves, recommend a listen at the very least.

Band Bio:

" The Outback Surf Squad is the brainchild of wanna-be surf guitarist Jamie Balcombe, coming from the decidedly un-surfy region of Outback Australia. Realising that finding fellow surf enthusiasts in this region is a fruitless task, Jamie decided to formulate his own surf-a-billy riffs and collaborate with his trusted surfinstro buddies from all over the planet with the view of putting an EP together.....his 2nd tune is being finished in Germany as we speak!!
