A brand-new surf instrumental release by Urban Zotel and The Thundertones two original tunes "Heatwave" and "Emergency Exit", a first studio release after 2 years when the previous "The Chase" was recorded. It features a deep reverberated "Fender" guitar and raw tenor saxophone in a classic 1960s style surf fashion.

Track by track Review:

Heatwave- This is a high-class surfin’ tune with the guitar riding the waves throughout, Urban picks away at the notes blending in with some fine sax breaks that make this number a timeless piece of instrumental surfin’ paradise.

Emergency Exit- So, the flipside plays out to be more of a daunting tune that could feature in a horror type status. It’s a very characteristic tune that could be said has a Spanish influence running through it.

So, to Summarise two more to add to the surfin’ vaults both worthy tunes that reminisce the era. The guitar sound from Urban is prolific and captures the tide of the moment.

Band Bio:

Urban Zotel is a guitarist from Slovenia, mainly working with his instrumental band The Star Time Playboys for the last 7 years and as solo artist.

His playing is inspired by early roots, country, swing and blues musicians such as Jimmy Bryant, Jimmie Rivers, Bill Jennings and countless others.

In 2022, Urban Zotel & The Thundertones released their debut single " Urban Zotel & The Thundertones Go Surfin'", and a second release by the band later in the year that features two reverberated instrumentals, opening with a surf tune "The Chase" and following with a laid-back blues "Palm Spring Stroll".

This second project like the first by Zoltan recreates the laid-back surf sound of the early 1960s rather than the “rock” sound of the surf revival of the last 3 decades. Now after some two years we have the third single Heatwave/Emergency Exit.

Urban is the sole author of his projects and except for the saxophone (which was played by a session musician) recorded all the instruments himself, hence 2 completely self-penned tracks.
