Track by track review:

At The Record Hop Tonight- After a brief Jerry Lee style intro a terrific jiving beat starts us off on the road back to rock n roll with some cool piano interludes. The story of learning to jive at the record hop tonight .

Bring Back Rock n Roll- This the title track reminisces on the bygone days of rock n roll calling for a revival of classic rock n’ roll , it has a rockin flow to it that’s a sure-fire dancefloor hit, featuring the Kara Jones.

Don’t Let Me Down- More of a mid-tempo track that portraits the soothing voice of Frankie, Lewis gives it a fine piano break joined by Mark on guitar, its jumpy jolly and very calming.

I’ve Been Here Before- Beautiful ballad sung by Frankie showing his range hitting the high notes. The tune has a few traits of The Skyliners “Since I Don’t Have” at the start but blends into a more apt style.

Baby Don’t Do That-The Shakin Stevens influence shows in this track another great dance tune with a foot tapping, hand clapping lively beat .

Yeah I Know You Fooled Me Once- This one would make a great stroller with a constant beat again Frankie excels on the vocals with his soft sounding notes.

I Still Think Of You- Lovley laid back number with some romancing musical accompaniment that filters through those magical notes.

What We Got Is Rock n Roll- Wow! This is a cracker a Dave Edmunds style rocker with some Jerry Lee piano mixed in. It’s a fast-paced beat that drives all the way till the end, certainly one to liven up your evening.

I’ll Be There For You- And they keep coming another riveting number with a neat guitar and piano break.

On A Bench By The Lake- Nice ballad with some background harmonising and cool accompanying guitar playing.

Travel Around- A musician’s lament or in the songs case the story of a travelling man in and out of love. Jovial tune with a catchy beat.

What Happened To The Good Old Music- With a Country twang to it this one is in  collaboration with Rockabilly icon Ricky Aron. The song reminisces about the timeless tunes of the past with some in depth guitar work.

I’m Falling In Love With You- Grab your partners for this one it’s a nice smoochy number with a lovely melody.

Bring Back Rock n Roll ( Alternative take)- A differing intro with the drums more prominent building into the tune which remains the same with Kara Jones singing a few verses and an organ playing along.

Friday Night (Bonus Track)- And it’s certainly a bonus full on hard and fast rockin” it up. Theres a Shaky influence again heard in the way Frankie portrays the vocals.

To Summarise, fantastic to know this young man has produced an album in memory of Rock n Roll to help keep it alive and kicking for the future. The songs show Frankies versatility and stature backed by a professional crew and a live performance of them I feel sure will be a resounding success for any club or weekender.
