Review

Mr Moss are what is basically known as a “E-swing band from the Czech Republic and have been going for a few years now, they have re entered the rockabilly scene with two brand new demos that will be released February. The band have been performing together since 2020 and have hit like a storm across European events and festivals including “Rock for People, Votvírák, JamRock, Colours of Ostrava”  they soon plan on releasing their second album full of original tracks inspired by the members of the band.

Direct from the band - We are dipping our toes back into the rockabilly genre this year with 2 new singles: On the 21st of February we will be releasing a new single called B!TCH with Berlin-based label Electro Swing Thing. And on the 4th of April we will be releasing another Single with Ragtime Records called Karma. Since you’re such a fan of rockabilly, we wanted to give you a sneak peak of our new releases: They are a bit more edgy than the classic rockabilly.

Tracks review

Bitch (demo)

These are just demonstration tracks so might change slightly on the actual release. First impression gives me tingle in my ears. Its very likable, very well sang and the music is fresh. Its probably not for the purist out there, but its defiantly a new sound to swingabilly, story tells of somebody who is living the single life, the lyrics finish the story, so you will have to purchase it to find out. The backing is really good and Nicoles vocals are great.

Karma (demo)

Reminds me of the sound of Imelda May and lady luck Lexy. Great vocals once again to this second swingbilly / burlesque vipe track. they have a really great sound to them and an interesting style that works. If these are demos. I cant wait for the whole album. Great stuff

Summary

These new bands and styles need to get all the attention they truly desire. Whether we like it or not ,this new old style is breaking back through. Just like the neo of the 80s and psychobilly we will all fall to liking it. Mr Moss are great at what they do and what they present both musically and performance. I wish them luck every step of the way.

Biography

With swing roots colliding with rock, jazz, and electro beats, Mr. Moss’s sound is a bold, high-energy cocktail of vintage soul and modern grit. Think smoky jazz clubs crashing into an underground rave, all wrapped in angst, attitude, and a message to live loud and be unapologetically yourself.

Fronted by American powerhouse vocalist Nicole Fay and Czech multi-instrumentalist producer Michal Dvořáček, and backed by a band of Czech musicians with diverse influences, Mr. Moss first made waves with their debut album High (2020). Their flagship single HIGH even landed in the Czech film Bábovky (2020), setting the stage for their rise in the music scene.

In 2023, Mr. Moss took their high-energy live shows to some of the biggest Czech festivals — Rock for People, Colours of Ostrava, Votvírák, and JamRock — turning every set into a riotous, swing-fueled dance party.

Now, with their explosive new single B!TCH dropping February 21, 2025, via Berlin-based label Electro Swing Thing, they’re ready to take their message of self-expression to the next level.

So crank up the volume, live loud, and swing like nobody’s watching — Mr. Moss is here to be the soundtrack to your life.
